Online Research Methods course reaches 24 students this semester!

This semester, 24 students are participating in the Online Research Methods course, as part of their Master program in ANU. Dr. Rob Ackland established the Social Science of the Internet specialization in the ANU's Master of Social Research in 2008.

The course covers diverse research methods, with a greater emphasis on unobtrusive research, e.g. quantitative (statistical) analysis of Internet trace data from emails, websites, blogsites and social networking sites such as Facebook.

During the course, the students will learn to use state of the art tools for data collection and analysis of internet data, such as VOSON, SocialMediaLab, R, Guepi and NodeXL.
